The demand for skilled professionals in every industry is growing, and the heat treating sector is no exception. In 2024, the Metal Treating Institute (MTI) launched a six-episode docuseries called Jobs of Tomorrow that shares what heat treating is and why choose it as a career. The docuseries is located on MTI’s career website HeatTreatCareers.com—a comprehensive digital resource for anyone curious about a career in heat treating. Investing in the Future Workforce = Scholarships

Since 2007, the MTI Educational Foundation has awarded more than $375,000 in educational scholarships to attract and support young talent in the heat treating industry. Continuing this commitment, the Foundation is thrilled to announce the opening of its 2025 scholarship application process, offering a total of $80,000 across 16 scholarships.

Scholarship Details:

1. (1) $15,000 Founders Scholarship

o Awarded to the top applicant demonstrating exceptional qualifications and merit.

2. (12) $5,000 Scholarships

3. (4) $2,500 Technical School Scholarships

Scholarships are renewable for an additional year, but renewal is not automatic. Applicants must submit a timely, complete application for consideration.

Eligibility Criteria:

The scholarship program is open to students pursuing studies in:

· Metallurgy

· Materials Science

· Engineering

· Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Sciences (including technical certificate programs)

Applicants must be enrolled, or recently accepted, as full- or part-time students at nationally accredited colleges or technical schools.

Key Dates:

· Application Deadline: April 30, 2025

· Scholarship Awards Announced: May or June 2025
