Steel Distributor Increases Heat Treat Capacity
Perhaps this is quite not a first but pretty close to it-a Heat Treatment news item from Finland. According to this press release Sten Steel Oy, a firm in Finland who operates as a steel distributor and commercial heat treater recently added to their capacity in the form of a new “Atlas” sealed quench furnace (Batch IQ for our North American readers). This furnace will complement the company’s existing sealed quench and vacuum hardening capabilities.
“Ipsen / Sten Teräs Oy: Mission completed – our ATLAS has landed! Today we successfully delivered to our customer “Sten Teräs Oy” in Muurame, Finland a brand new “Atlas” furnace, this was after the successful pre-acceptance 3 weeks ago. We were faced with the challenge of getting the system through the customer’s roof, as the existing hall entrance doors were not large enough. However, with careful planning we managed to position the pit exactly between two steel beams supporting the hall roof which allowed us to safely install the furnace.
The Ipsen ATLAS sets new standards with the Ipsen gas reduction system and the Ipsen gas analyzer. This innovative technology enables the most efficient control of the furnace atmosphere and significantly reduces the consumption of process gases.”
