German Furnace Builder IVA Schmetz of Menden, Germany becomes the latest vacuum furnace builder to enter the vacuum carburizing (LPC) market with a product called “CARB PLUS” which utilizes acetylene as the carburizing gas. Their first system is completed, tested and accepted and will be going to a German customer. The firms brief press release is below;

“After successful acceptance, we are pleased to deliver our first vacuum furnace with the CARB PLUS system to a German customer. The CARB PLUS system enables low-pressure carburizing of components in a vacuum furnace with gas quenching using acetylene. We are looking forward to the commissioning!”
