Cast Alloy Deliveries Going Up

A perfect storm has hit foundries producing cast components for the heat treatment industry, a perfect storm which is already giving end users serious headaches. A rebound in the US economy has increased demand at the same time as two foundries in the US have been faced with “challenges”. One of the largest suppliers in the US has been suffering boiler problems at their facility for several months and the problems are severe enough that deliveries of finished product have been seriously affected. A fire at another foundry in the US, Steeltech Ltd., in Grand Rapids, Michigan just over a week ago has certainly not improved their deliveries although much to their credit the company has responded quickly and effectively and it appears they will be back to normal in the near future. All in all expect longer deliveries for items such as cast fixturing, radiant tubes, base trays and rolls.
