Firm Invest Millions in Heat Treat-Merges Under One Banner

If you are not familiar with the name “Centurion Metalworks” you can certainly be forgiven-the name was a new one for the team at “The Monty Heat Treat News” until very recently. The family owned company (the Dauch family) based in Traverse City, Michigan, USA came together under the “Centurion” name very recently-August of 2026. The group comprises several ventures providing components for the automotive industry as well as parts for SpaceX satellites and the International Space Station. What makes this very interesting is that one of the entities under the new banner is “Century Sun Metal Treating”, which “The Monty” has long ranked as one of the “52 Largest North American Commercial Heat Treaters”.

News reports and press releases have the new organization, “Centurion Metalworks” investing $4.5 Million USD to renovate a 43,000-square-foot building in Traverse City, Michigan which will involve moving/installing a total of roughly 50 heat treat furnaces and related equipment.

We have always thought of “Century Sun Metal Treating” as being a high-quality commercial heat treater offering vacuum hardening, plasma nitriding, salt bath and carburizing amongst other processes. We will keep you update if more information becomes available.
