Ray Weidt 1929-2014

We regret to mention the passing of Mr. Ray Weidt, of commercial heat treater Lawrence Industries in Hastings, NE, USA.  His family sent us the kindest note about Ray, we are happy to help in his legacy.

“Ray Weidt, who passed away on June 7th, 2024, was born on July 30, 1929, in Minneapolis, MN, and played a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of Lawrence Industries. After joining the company in Hastings, NE, in 1976 to assist founder Lawrence Ridinger, Ray assumed leadership following Larry’s passing in 1978. Under his stewardship, Lawrence Industries expanded its footprint in the heat treatment industry, embodying a commitment to innovation and service excellence. Ray’s tenure as owner until his retirement in 2002 underscored his dedication to advancing heat treatment technologies and fostering industry relationships.

Following Ray Weidt’s retirement, his son Bob Weidt assumed ownership of Lawrence Industries. With nearly 40 years of experience in the industry, Bob is dedicated to continuing his father’s legacy of excellence and innovation in heat treatment technologies. Under Bob’s leadership, Lawrence Industries remains committed to advancing the field while maintaining the high standards set by Ray Weidt.

Ray Weidt’s passion for golf and puzzles was as integral to his life as heat treatment is to Lawrence Industries. Just as solving a complex puzzle requires strategy and precision, so too does mastering the intricacies of heat treatment. Ray’s love for these pursuits exemplified his approach to business and life, combining skill, patience, and a dedication to continuous improvement.”
