Vacuum furnace builder Signature Vacuum Systems in Meadville, Pennsylvania, USA starting construction recently on what the company was billing as “the world’s largest front-loading vacuum furnace”-a claim which caught our attention. Over the past few months, we have watched with interest the progress on this project. As it turns out it would appear that a more appropriate title might be “the world’s tallest front loading vacuum furnace”. This picture shows the almost completed furnace with both doors open prior to final testing. Certainly it is a unique system-can’t say that we have ever come across one similar.
