Recently the North American commercial heat treat industry has seen a wave of consolidations/closings-a recent example features “Atmosphere Group Inc” in Michigan, USA “USA Commercial Heat Treater Consolidates Operations”.

Another example (although this has not been publicly announced) concerns “Bodycote”, the world’s largest commercial heat treater who will be making changes which will affect 6 locations in North America. 

Today we have word that one of the larger commercial heat treaters in North America, “Bluewater Thermal Solutions” will also be consolidating operations. “Bluewater” one of the “52 Largest North American Commercial Heat Treaters in 2025”  maintains 9 locations around the USA. The facilities in Northlake, IL and Melrose Park, IL have either closed or will be closing with the work and some of the equipment going to other Bluewater locations.
