We start off with Aalberts Surface Technologies in Oshkosh, WI, US (formerly Applied Process) where we see that Mr. Dave Diemel has been appointed Plant Manager. Aalberts Surface Technologies based in the Netherlands is one of the largest commercial heat treaters in the world. This particular facility is famous in that it is home to quite possibly the largest Austemper Batch IQ furnace in the world. This furnace has an operating window of 84″W x 96″L x 54″T, a gross capacity of 20,000 pounds and a quench tank which holds 400,000 pounds of salt. In Germany we see that Mr. Dietmar Voigtländer who was Sales Manager for Plateg Plasma Nitriding systems for many years has branched off on his own. His new company is DVo Consulting and he describes himself as a private consultant for plasma nitriding technology. Plateg is well known in Europe for their Plasma nitriding systems but is virtually unheard of in the North American heat treatment industry.
