Steeltech Foundry Fire-Update

Last week alloy supplier Steeltech in Grand Rapids, Michigan suffered a serious fire as “The Monty Heat Treat News” reported. We now have this update from the company.

“Steeltech would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support we have been receiving from our customers and suppliers to our company. We were very fortunate that on Friday morning the fire department was able to contain the fire to only one area of our Grand Rapids facility. Due to the training that we received from the Metal Treating Institute, Steeltech had a fire and catastrophe backup plan in place. With the implementation of this plan, we were able to quickly set up new manufacturing cells in another area of our plant to continue operations. We have worked around the clock to put the necessary equipment in place so we are able to continue with production this week, and we expect minimal delays as a result. Thanks again for all of your support, and you can continue to conduct business confidently with Steeltech. Please contact a Steeltech representative today if you have any questions or would like a quotation on any of your alloy casting needs. Tony Salerno President / CEO Steeltech LLC”
