Retech Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Friday June 2, 2023 Retech Systems LLC, part of the SECO Warwick Group celebrated their 60th year in business with an open house and a guided tour of world famous Niagara Falls-“The Monty Heat Treat News” was of course in attendance.

Retech was founded in 1963 in California by Mr. Max Schlienger who began development of a Vacuum Arc Remelt (VAR) system. Since that time the company has moved to Buffalo, NY (while maintaining a presence in California)  and now offers Electron Beam Cold Hearth Melting, Plasma Cold Hearth Melting, and Cold Wall Induction systems. Retech has also developed the RototrodeR (non-consumable arc) and Plasma Arc Centrifugal Treatment (PACTT) technologies. Each custom engineered system produces products with the unique metallurgical and geometric properties that are required by the application.

The event attracted roughly 60 attendees which included industry suppliers, customers, heat treat media and even another furnace builder-McLaughlin Furnace Group. What the event presented was a new, modern and expanding manufacturing facility (one of 2 in the Buffalo area), a summary of the company and presentations by some of the key SECO and Retech people. This group included Mr. Earl Good, Retech Managing Director, Piotr Zawistowski, SECO/VACUUM, Marcus Lord, President and Managing Director SECO/USA and Mr. Slawek Wozniak, CEO SECO/WARWICK.

All in all the event was well organized, relaxed and informative. We believe we speak for everybody when we say that it was quite enjoyable.
