It is with great regret that we mention the passing of a good friend, a friend who was a giant in the Indian heat treat industry. Pratap Ghorpade spent his entire working life in the heat treatment industry much of it with the largest furnace builder and commercial heat treater in India, Hi Temp Furnaces of Bangalore. Subsequent to this he was Country Manager for Pyromaitre INC, a Canadian company which offers tempering systems. During his working career he was known and admired by most heat treaters, both captive and commercial in India. Pratap passed away June 9^th in his hometown of Bangalore.
