Heat Treatment Names in the News

To start off one of the final weeks of 2025 lets look at some well known individuals in the global heat treatment industry who have been making career changes;

Mr. Jamie Kuriger. Jamie has spent most of his working career involved in the North American heat treatment industry with many of those years spent with the world’s largest commercial heat treater “Bodycote”. Jamie was just promoted to “Director of Sales, North America”, his previous title was “Sales Manager North America East-Aerospace, Defense & Energy. Congratulations to Jamie.

Klaus LöserFor many years now “The Monty Heat Treat” team has looked forward to seeing Klaus at various heat treat events around the world. Alas we understand that Klaus has announced his retirement. His most recent position was Senior Vice President R&D with ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH of Hanau, Germany. We will miss his happy, enthusiastic attitude towards the world.

Pete Reh. As far as we know Pete’s entire working career has centered on the vacuum heat treat industry. With over 13 years at vacuum furnace builder VFS of Souderton, PA, USA  (now part of Ipsen)and over 21 years with vacuum furnace manufacturer Solar Manufacturing of Sellersville, PA, few can match Pete’s knowledge of vacuum furnaces. His most recent title was Vice President of Sales. Unfortunately for the industry, Pete has just retired-his experience will be missed.

Carlos Carrasco. For 11 years Mr. Carlos Carrasco has been an independent sales rep in Mexico representing furnace builder SECO/WARWICK and other suppliers to the heat treatment industry. Carlos has just joined the SECO/WARWICK USA sales team as a Regional Manager, a position we predict he will handle very capably.

D. Scott MacKenzie. Scott recently received the 2025 George H. Bodeen Heat Treating Achievement Award. He was awarded “in recognition of his unparalleled contributions to advancing quenching technology worldwide through pioneering work in quenchant materials and modeling, and for his tireless dedication to education and training within the heat treat industry.” Dr. MacKenzie retired from Quaker Houghton in January 2025 as Quaker Houghton Research Fellow. He is also an ASM Fellow.
