August 14th, 2025 “The Monty” had this blazing headline; “Blockbuster Acquisition in the Global Heat Treat Furnace Industry” which certainly caught the industry’s attention. However a number of sharp eyed readers brought up the question; “Where did GM Enterprises go?”

 

January 8th, 2020 Nitrex acquired “GM Enterprises” of Corona, California, USA a supplier of vacuum furnaces in a story which can be found here; “Nitrex Acquires G-M Enterprises to Strengthen Products Portfolio”, since that time “GM” has remained an important part of the “Nitrex” brand as a respected, profitable and innovative division.

 

However in the official press release about the acquisition no mention is made of “GM” whatsoever-“Aichelin Acquires NTS & UPC business divisions of NITREX” why? Unfortunately “The Monty” doesn’t have an answer to this question which seems odd as “GM” is a well known name in the heat treatment industry. 

 

We do know that “GM” is doing well and will remain part of the company, perhaps it was assumed that as part of “NTS” no mention needed to be made about GM in particular. 

 

In the meantime we have no further news about “High Vacuum Technologies”, a recent start up by the ex owners of GM Enterprises who plan on re entering the new vacuum furnace industry.  “New Vacuum Furnace Builder in North America?”
