A very unfortunate side effect of the COVID 19 pandemic has been increasing costs for heat treating supplies. Whether it is because of seemingly unlimited government funding, a growing economy or a combination of both really doesn’t matter-what does matter is that every single item required for heat treatment is going up in price combined with a longer delivery time. Furnaces, quench oil, alloy components, refractory, pumps-you name it everything is increasing in cost and will continue to do so for quite some time. Price increases range from relatively low (under 5%) to double digit increases for new furnaces due mainly to steel pricing. Need something, anything? Our recommendation is to get it on order ASAP.
