The number one factor effecting the price of high temperature cast and fabricated furnace fixturing and components is the price of nickel. As goes the price of nickel so goes the price of your furnace components which is why we have always kept a very close eye on the price. For a variety of reasons the price over the past year has fluctuated substantially, from a low of roughly $5.00US per pound to a high of almost $9.00 US per pound as can be seen in the graph below. Recently pricing has been more volatile than normal and we see that the price has dropped almost 20% in the past two months, which if it were to continue is good news for every heat treater out there.
