GM Enterprises And Its’ Place in the Aichelin Aquisition of Nitrex

The recent acquisition of “Nitrex by Aichelin” caught the global heat treat industry by surprise; “Blockbuster Acquistion in the Global Heat Treat Furnace Industry“. While the official press release was reasonably detailed it certainly raised a host of questions about how this acquisition would look going forward.

One question which was asked by a number of our readers was “where does the vacuum furnace manufacturing division of Nitrex, ‘GM Enterprises” fit into this situation?”  September 9th we posed exactly that question; “GM Enterprises & the Nitrex Acquisition“.

We appreciate the fact that ‘Aichelin” promptly sent us this clarification which you will find below-it would appear that it will be “business as usual”

“Dear Gord, We read with interest your September 11th Weekly Update and the questions raised regarding GM Enterprises in the context of the recent Aichelin–Nitrex announcement. Thank you for highlighting this important industry development.

To clarify: GM Enterprises has been part of Nitrex since January 2020, when it was acquired as a supplier of vacuum furnaces based in Corona, California. Since then, GM has continued to operate as a respected, profitable, and innovative division within the Nitrex group, contributing its vacuum furnace expertise to our global portfolio.

The recent press release you referenced was focused specifically on the divestment of the NTS and UPC business divisions to Aichelin. As GM Enterprises operates under the NTS umbrella, it was not mentioned separately in that announcement. Nevertheless, GM remains a strong and integral part of Nitrex, and continues to play a vital role in delivering advanced vacuum furnace solutions to our customers.”
