Commercial heat treater “Trattamenti Termici Nervianesi” (T.T.N.) of Italy is known for their ability to handle extremely large parts, however in addition the firm offers vacuum hardening, Plasma Nitriding, LPC and Gas nitriding for a wide variety of smaller part-vacuum hardening is our focus today.

The company has just installed a new vacuum hardening furnace provided by German furnace builder IVA Schmetz GmbH at their Venata, Italy location. The new furnace is capable of 1350C (2462F), with 10 bar quenching. Interestingly enough it includes a cryogenic cooling module able to achieve temperatures down to -140°C which is a new one on us.
